Calendar Art 2016

This year in 2016 we did calendar art again. We had 5 options to choose from. The options were painting something in the sky, living statues, cut out tassels, circles and wings. I chose painting something in the sky. The process was simple. We got a bunch of paint brushes, taking a photo, make it black and white, colour it with crayons for your design and finally paint your design. I made a rainbow with a sun. It looks amazing. This is it. Enjoy!

Warriors Reading Tasks

Fro the past two weeks we have been working on warriors reading tasks. The following tasks we had to use or prior knowledge, Preview, find the main idea, find details, make inferences, use context clues, understand figurative langue, question, summarize and identify authors purpose. It was not a easy task. I have learnt a lot from it about both reading and the warriors!

Triathlete Sam Questions

Today and yesterday we have been reading a journal about a triathlete called Sam. We had to read and make questions. Most of my questions got answered but 3 weren't they were "what are ironman races?" and "why does he want to keep going when he is old and broken down?" also "How much longer does he have to study?". Another two are "how much damage did he get to his collarbone" and "he was good so why was he in so much pain?" These are my questions. Enjoy!

Anita punt information report

This week for writing we also have been working on information reports. We were writing about a New Zealand athlete for the Rio Olympics. I chose Anita Punt. this is my information report. Enjoy!

Anita Punt Information Report 31/8
Anita Punt plays field hockey for the New Zealand womens black sticks. She is known for her good speed and most people say she is one of the fastest women field hockey players.

She was born on the second of October in 1987 in Nelson. That makes her 28 and turning 29 this year. She has been playing field hockey for New Zealand since 2009. She even played in the 2010 commonwealth games!

Anita Punt has been married this year in march to Scott McLaren. So her name is now Anita McLaren. Even so she can still be called Anita Punt. You can call her what your want but the name most civilians prefer is Anita Punt. It is really confusing!

Her career as a New Zealand womens black sticks field hockey player has come so far. The whole team made it to the semis without losing. Unfortunately her team got beaten by great britain and didn’t get a medal. But they still made me proud.

Overall I think Anita Punt is a great field hockey player and I am sure glad she plays for New Zealand. I think she is the 2 best hockey player ever!

What I Know About Information Reports

This week for literacy we have been reading information reports. We read a information report about B.M.X. Then we had to read about what can be included and what is needed in a information report. We then played a game about information reports. Then we had a test. I got 9/10. Here are the results. Enjoy!

Slosh, dribble and plop for smati ml and litres for us

Today we were trading milk to the country of Smati, for their magical and mystical mathematical elixir. It helps you remember your times tables and division. But the people of Smati only take slosh's dribbles's and plop's, so we had to do the math and make it into Smati measurement units. We needed 8 plops to make two litres. We had to design a label for Smati so they can have our milk. This is mine. Enjoy!
